Tests for AS:

 

FISH, or fluorescent in situ hydration, takes samples of ten cells and finds if they are normal or if there is deletion of chromosome 15, . The test looks for the part of UBE3A, which is segment 15q11-q13, and if the cell does not have this, it will automatically point to AS.
